In spring, take a stroll through the blooming apple orchards. In summer, explore the mountains on foot or by bike and enjoy the mild evenings accompanied by good food and wine. In autumn, the vineyards turn golden, making it the perfect time for Törggelen, chestnuts and panoramic views. Winter has its magic, too: snow-covered peaks, stillness, and Meran’s Christmas lights just around the corner.

HIKING PARADISE ALGUND

Put on your hiking boots and get started: the Algund Waalweg trail is just a few steps from Hofer am Bach, perfect for a relaxing walk with great views.
Want to go higher? Take the chairlift to Vellau and hop on the Meran High Mountain Trail, or ride the cable car up to the charming mountain village of Aschbach. For summit seekers, there are breathtaking routes in the Texel Group Nature Park.
Whether you prefer a leisurely walk or fall in love with the wild mountain world around Algund – the trails start right at our doorstep.
BIKE TRAILS & CYCLING IN ALGUND
Hop on and ride
Algund lies right on the Etsch Valley Cycle Path – ideal for relaxed rides to Meran or along the Via Claudia Augusta. If you prefer uphill, head to Aschbach for mountain trails and forest paths – and take the cable car for a comfy ride to higher elevations (free with the Südtirol GuestPass Algund).
You can store your bike in our house cellar (not secured) – always ready for your next tour.

That family feeling
Algund is the perfect place for a family holiday: small, easy to get around, and surrounded by nature. Between apple meadows, hiking trails, and mountains, every day holds a new adventure.
Little explorers will love it here: several playgrounds in town, including a large adventure playground, a ride on the chairlift or nostalgic basket lift to the Leiter Alm, forest discovery trail in Aschbach and Horseback riding through woods and meadows. Even mini-golf is available – fun for the whole family!

In the mood for some city flair? Meran is within walking distance and can also be easily reached by public transport – it's free with the Südtirol GuestPass Algund.
Take a stroll along the Tappeiner Promenade, browse the little shops in the arcades, or relax in the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, which are filled with blooming beauty.
Meran is a charming and lively town that is close enough to visit whenever you like.

Winter hiking & snow magic
Winter in Algund is peaceful and full of variety. In the valley, you can often hike and walk all year round – usually snow-free, but with stillness and fantastic views.
Looking for a white winter? You’ll get there quickly: snowshoeing, sledding, or skiing in Meran 2000, Schnalstal, Ultental, or Pfelders – all close and easy to reach.
The Christmas season is magical too: Visit the Algund Christmas Market with local treats and crafts, or explore some of South Tyrol’s most beautiful holiday markets in Meran, Bozen, Brixen, or Bruneck, plus charming little markets nearby.
